Locating the old river bed is key to sustained success at Langold.

Estate Lake |
| Description: |
Situated in the village of Langold in North Nottinghamshire, Langold Lake is owned by Bassetlaw District Council. This very old Estate Lake, built by the Gally Knight Family a couple of hundred years ago, is noted for its tench and bream, the latter of which run to double figures.
Langold was stocked with 1000 skimmers 14 Feb 2007 which do put in an appearance in the weekly matches held every sunday. Despite the match there are plenty of pegs available for piking and I bet the pike enjoy catching the skimmers too.
I have taken pike to double figures with plenty of jacks to livebait around the dam end. Try to find the old river bed with your deadbaits for good pike sport. You will see plenty of dog walkers and sunday strollers but if you don't mind this, and I have found them to be very friendly, you might just catch a few pike. |
