| Description: |
There are two ponds at this small but popular mixed coarse fishery in the town of Thorne, South Yorkshire. Head for the long pond in search of pike to 20lb and expect plenty of company in the shape of pleasure, match and carp anglers.
There are regular matches on the Island pond with small carp, F1's and other species the target. I would not be surprised if the Island pond turned up a decent pike. It is shallow and full of food fish and rarely sees a pike angler.
The deeper Long Pond produces carp to well over 20lb and is an excellent winter venue, probably owing to food going in all year round. Overall this is a busy venue but well worth a look for pike. |
