Day 1 - Well, day one went much better than last year when i blanked the whole of the six days out. Sithee caught a 16lb 4oz and I caught one just under 9lb.
Day 2 - and boy was it cold. The pond we went to was frozen over, I could not believe it, so we went to venue b, a river. It was a miserable morning, Sithees breakfast was very welcome. He lost two good runs and i had nothing until dead on two O'clock when the float disappeared without any warning and, after a bit of a scuffle, a very short and very fat 15lbs 3ozs Pike was landed.

Day3 - it rained with a passion last night in Lincolnshire. Our river venue was not good, so me and Sithee went to our stillwater venue which was frozen yesterday. It was a slow old day, but the weather was good. I was looking forward to fishing this lake as it was here that I caught my first Pike; all 12 pounds of her 5 years ago. We were fishing at 8.00 am and it was wonderful, fish topping, Sithee had a Pike bite his float, but nothing else was stirring. Then, at midday, i had a strong run. It felt like a good fish but spat the hooks out. I had another great run but it was not converted, then nothing for another 3 hours. We were packing our gear away, resigned to reporting a blank when I saw my float travel forward and then dive down. I contacted with this fish and what a cracker she is; all 19lbs 8ozs of her. How good an end to the day?

Day 4 - we went onto the relief channel. Some great Pike spots, but not today, we blanked. There were lots of Pikers about today, no one caught. We were perched near a pumping station, there were lots of silver fish topping, but the water was badly coloured, not a single run or knock. Still, there is always tomorrow.
Day 5 - we met up with Tootall this morning and fished a lake I had not been to for a while. First cast didnt have time to hit the bottom. A great 18 pounder. I thought we were in for a busy day but it slowed down. Saying that, I caught a very good sixteen and a half pounder about 10.00 a.m. It was a great day weather wise. I can't believe its the last day tomorrow and we are finishing off on a canal, Ady and Otter are you turning up,? p.m me for venue details. Tootall great to see you again and well done on your Pike at the last knockings, great day and good crack.
16lb 8oz

Heres Tootall's fish. It was a great day and Tootall worked hard to catch a fish. He caught this one on a lure and lost another on the next cast. Great day Rob, we will do it again soon.

It was a great week. Sithees breakfasts were excellent and we did get some decent fish. We spent some time on the bank and, as you know, it can be a waiting game. We blanked only on one day, which was good. We left my house most mornings before 6.00am and were not back untill 5.30ish. We didnt get up to see Patch which was unfortunate but it was a fantastic week. We met up with Tootall, saw lots of wildlife and had an excellent week. I will be doing it again next year.
